1) Prick the squash several times with
a fork and microwave for 3 minutes; it
will soften slightly, making it easier to
cut open. or bake the whole squash
directly on the rack in a 350°F oven until
slightly softened and the skin begins to
change color, about 10 minutes. set the
squash on a towel on a cutting board to
prevent it from slipping, and push the tip
of a sharp chef’s knife into the squash
near the stem. Carefully push the knife
through the squash to the cutting board
to cut off the stem.
